Aubrey Pfau is in her second year coaching with Metro American Volleyball Club. Last year she was the assistant coach for our 16 North team. She also is currently in her third season as the head varsity volleyball coach for Middletown High School, where she has ushered 5 of her players into positions on various college volleyball teams.
Aubrey started playing volleyball in 7th grade in Texas. She extended her volleyball career into high school at Middletown High (Frederick County, MD) where she was a 2 year varsity starter. Her varsity team was the Frederick County Champions and she still holds the record at Middletown for the most blocks (75) in a single season. During her time in high school, she played club volleyball for FAVOR.
Aubrey then went on to play for 3 seasons at Shepherd University as a middle hitter. At Shepherd, she earned a Bachelors of Science in Recreation & Leisure, with a double concentration in Sports & Event Management/Commercial, Recreation & Tourism.
Since college, Aubrey continues to play USAV at the Club A level and went to Nationals in 2010 at the Club BB level.
She currently works in the Special Education Department for the Frederick County Public Schools.
Metro American Volleyball Club is excited to announce Brad Blumenauer as a new coach in our North Region. Brad is also the Varsity volleyball coach at Brunswick High School.
Brad started playing volleyball at Salisbury University where he played two years of club volleyball. Brad earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salisbury and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental/Marine Science from University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Brad is currently a Research Associate with a contractor for the Department of Homeland Security.

Kristie Fourcade is in her second year with MAVBC. Last year Kristie was our 15 North Coach. Kristie also is the Head Coach at St. John Catholic Prep. She has also coached with Frederick Community College and the FAVOR club.
Kristie began her volleyball career at St. Johns Prospect Hall as a 4 year varsity starting setter, where she earned many honors including the Gazette and Frederick News Post All Star First Teams. She played club with MVSA and WACO during those years. Through MVSA, she led her team to the Junior Olympic Nationals twice.
Kristie then went on to play for McDaniel College where she still holds many records, including service aces for a single match and assist percentage for a single season. While at McDaniel, she earned a BA in Exercise Science Physical Education with a double minor in Sport Coaching and Athletic Training and is currently in the Master’s program in Education to become a Physical Education teacher. Kristie is a substitute teacher for the Frederick County Public Schools.
MAVBC is excited to announce Shannon Lertora as a new North region coach. She has also been an assistant coach at Frederick Community College.
Shannon began her volleyball career at Walkersville High School and played club for FAVOR. While at Walkersville, she was captain her senior year and received the “Most Versatile Player” award.
Shannon then went on to play at Hood College where she earned numerous awards and recognitions. During her senior year she earned the Dean’s Award and also ranked as high as 25th among all Division III players in service aces per game. Shannon was also a two time All-Atlantic Women’s College Conference Selection. While at Hood, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Public Relations. She then attended the College of Notre Dame of Baltimore where she earned her Master of Arts Management with a specialization in Information Systems.
Currently, Shannon is a contracting officer with the Naval Medical Logistics Command at Fort Detrick. She is just recently married to Jeff and loves spending time with family, traveling, working out, and playing on various volleyball leagues in Frederick and Montgomery County.

Brandie Couch has been coaching with MAVBC since 2007. She started with the 16 North Regional team and then coached the 14 North Regional team in 2008 and 2009. With all of these teams, she has placed 2nd in several tournaments.
Brandie started out her volleyball career at Patrick Henry High School (1996-1999) in Ashland, Virginia. She then went on to play club volleyball at Virginia Tech (2001-2003), where she earned her bachelors degree in marketing management.
Brandie began assistant coaching for Christiansburg Middle School (2002-2004) in Christiansburg, Virginia. After moving to Connecticut, she took head coaching positions at Manchester High School (2004-2006) and Husky Volleyball Club (2004-2005). From 2007-2008, she was the Varsity coach for Damascus High School in Damascus, Maryland.
Brandie is married to Eric, also a MAVBC coach, and they have a 2 year old daughter, Maryssa.
Metro American Volleyball Club is excited to announce Amber O’Bryan as a new North Regional Coach.
Amber began her volleyball career in NW Ohio where she attended Fairview High School and was the District 7 Player of the Year, as well as being voted second team All-Ohio. She also played club volleyball for Premier Volleyball Academy and led her team to three appearances in the Junior Olympic Nationals. Amber was also her High School Valedictorian.
Amber then went on to earn a full scholarship to play volleyball for Marshall University where she earned her team their school’s second volleyball NCAA tournament appearance. She finished her college career 5th in the Marshall record books in single season blocks and aces and 3rd in career solo blocks, block assists and total blocks. She was also honored by having the team “Workhorse” award named after her. Amber earned her degree in Sports Management and Marketing with a minor in Psychology.
Currently, Amber is working as a contract specialist for the Department of the Navy at Ft. Detrick. She is married to Corie and has two dogs that keep her entertained at all times. Amber still plays volleyball in her spare time in local rec leagues, tournaments and USAV.
Eric Couch is in his 5th year coaching with Metro American Volleyball Club. For the 2009/2010 season, Eric was our 14 North Head Coach. Eric has also had coaching experience with the Husky Volleyball Club in Hartford, Connecticut from 2004-2006.
Eric attended Virginia Tech for his undergraduate and graduate degrees (a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering) and played club volleyball while attending there. His club team at Virginia Tech placed 5th at NIRSA Nationals in 1999.
Eric is married to Brandie Couch, another fabulous MAVBC coach.

Ellen Faaleolea returns to the Metro American Volleyball Club in her second season.
Originally from Dearborn, Mich., Faaleolea has served as a volleyball instructor and coach for 16 years. A three-year varsity starter at defensive specialist and setter at the University of Michigan Dearborn from 1995-98, Faaleolea was a two-time all-section pick and earned all-region recognition in 1998. During her four years at UM-Dearborn, she served as a varsity assistant coach at Dearborn High School.
Her previous head coaching experience includes stints with the Victors Volleyball Club and at Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Mich., as well as the FCV Tri-State Volleyball Club in Hagerstown, Md. Faaleolea also served as a guest skills coach at Herndon High School in Herndon, Va., in addition to serving as the head youth clinic instructor for the Activity Center at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg, Md. She has also been the head clinic instructor for the Frederick Area Volleyball Organization (FAVOR) in Frederick, MD. Currently, Faaleolea is in her second season as Assistant Coach for NCAA DIII, Hood College in Frederick, MD.
In 2004, Faaleolea was tabbed the "Queen of the Court" by the Maryland School for the Deaf at the Washington D.C. women's pro volleyball tour. She participated in the Scotland Open Tournament in 2004 and was named the most valuable player at the 2006 North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament (NACIVT) Nationals. Faaleolea was named to four all-tournament teams at the Chesapeake Region Volleyball Association (CHRVA) regional tournament from 2003-2005, 2010 seasons and traveled to Spain and Portugal as part of the 2001 spring exposure tour with BringIt Promotions, Inc. She also participated in USA Volleyball Nationals for more than 13 years at the women's club AA and A levels.
Faaleolea received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Michigan Dearborn in August 1999. She is employed full-time at the Southern Research Institute as a supervisor of organic chemistry. Faaleolea is certified as a provisional referee and regional scorekeeper by USA Volleyball. She is also IMPACT certified and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Jennifer Collins is in her 2nd year with Metro American Volleyball. Last season Jennifer served as an assistant coach for our 12 North Team. She has also been an assistant coach for the Gaithersburg Bohrer Center Youth Volleyball Clinics since 2009.
Jennifer began her volleyball career at Plattsburgh High School (New York) where she earned distinction as Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a Merritt C. Clifford Award recipient. In addition, she was selected to play on the Adirondack team at the New York State Empire State Games. Jennifer then went on to play informally at Georgetown University where she earned a B.S. in French and minors in German and European Studies.
Since graduation, Jennifer has played USAV for the last 14 years, in addition to being on the winning women’s team in the 2004 Scotland Open Tournament. She has also competed in and won numerous women’s Open doubles tournaments in the Northeast region since 2002. Currently, Jennifer is a Senior Associate Relationship Manager with PNC Bank.
